Note:  Some discographies list a 10 inch 78rpm single 4 Star 1294 Empty Ballroom Blues Part 1 & 2 as being recorded at the same session, but no bongos or vocals are heard on this recording. Some discographies list a 78 rpm single 4 Star 1481, but this is a misreading of Empty Room Blues c/w She's A Killer by Ivory Joe Hunter.

These 78 rpm records on the small Californian 4 Star label are extremely rare - it took me more than ten years to find them. Now I have to take them to a studio to have them transferred to digital. I had found the 78 with Empty Ballroom Blues Part 1 & 2 two years ago and was disappointed after listening through those two sides - no bongos to be heard. The label of that disc didn't list any personnel - those of the other two do. 

One source says Tjader taught himself bongos to particpate in this recording session.

Diese beiden Schellack-Platten sind sehr selten - ich habe über zehn Jahre nach ihnen gesucht. Esposito's Empty Ballroom Blues Part 1 & 2 hatte ich schon vor zwei Jahren aufgetrieben, aber ich wurde enttäuscht - keine Bongos zu hören! Das Label nannte keine Besetzung, auch hier wieder ein kleiner Irrtum der älteren Discografien. Jetzt muss ich diese vier Stücke nur noch digitalisieren lassen ... angeblich brachte sich Tjader das Bongospielen selbst bei, um bei dieser Aufnahme dabei sein zu können.
